Penetration tests are used to evaluate the effectiveness of an organisation’s IT security, highlighting any potential areas of weakness, and areas that need corrective action.
By understanding the techniques used by ‘hackers’, 4Secure tests identify how resilient networks, applications and hardware are to attacks from unauthorised users, and can flag up potential mistreatment by authorised users.
Most organisations have specific requirements when commissioning a penetration test, but the test often exposes other issues, such as:
- potential flaws which could result in financial or data loss.
- evidence (or otherwise!) of due diligence and compliance to industry regulators that your IT Systems have been tested. The absence of necessary documentation can lead to loss of business and opportunities.
