Content filtering and security

Halt - what goes there? Friend or foe?

The material that’s allowed into a system will have a significant impact on the way it works – or doesn’t.

And just because a network has a filter to prevent certain types of files from getting through, it doesn’t always solve the problem.

Years ago, e-mail was the main culprit, but more attacks are resulting from visits to legitimate – but compromised websites, potentially leaving URL filtering 'out in the cold'

4Secure uses the latest tried-and-tested methods to provide a range of solutions, to address all of the potential threats, and especially the ‘usual suspects’ of the intrusion world, namely:
  • blacklisting (- simply put, we recommend white-listing instead)
  • SSL scanning (particularly for larger organisations)
  • analysis of ActiveX and Java code
  • workstation malware
  • online banking transactions
  • inflexibility
Assumption is also a huge hurdle to overcome, but allowing 4Secure to formulate a pragmatic, structured approach to content filtering will erase any uncertainty, and deliver a genuinely workable and appropriate programme.
